Subscriber Dashboard Access

Overview

Season Pass subscribers access their dashboard via magic links — one-time-use login links sent by email or SMS. Once a subscriber clicks a magic link, their device is "trusted" for 90 days, meaning they can return to the dashboard without needing a new link each time.

Dashboard URL (for bookmarking):

https://app.buydoubles.com.au/club/{club-slug}/season-pass/subscriber

Example (Corrimal Cougars):

https://app.buydoubles.com.au/club/corrimal-cougars/season-pass/subscriber

How Login Works

  1. Subscriber receives a magic link via email or SMS
  2. They tap the link — it logs them in and shows their dashboard
  3. Their device is registered as "trusted" for 90 days
  4. Next time they visit the dashboard URL, they're auto-logged in (no new link needed)
  5. If they add the dashboard to their phone's home screen, it works like an app

Common Issues and Fixes

"I'm being asked to enter my email address"

What's happening: The subscriber is landing on the login screen instead of their dashboard. This means either:

  • They don't have a valid session or trusted device stored
  • They're visiting the dashboard URL without having logged in first on that browser/device

Fix:

  1. Send them a fresh magic link (via the platform or ask the dev team)
  2. Tell them to tap the link directly — don't copy and paste it
  3. Once their dashboard loads with their tickets, they should bookmark it or add to home screen

Important: Magic links are single use. If they tap it once, it works. If they tap it again, it will show the login screen because the link has already been consumed.

"I deleted the shortcut from my phone and now I can't get in"

What's happening: On iPhones, deleting a home screen web app clears the saved login data for that app. The subscriber needs to log in again.

Fix:

  1. Send them a new magic link
  2. Once they're in, they need to re-add the shortcut:
    • Tap the Share button in Safari (square with arrow)
    • Tap Add to Home Screen
    • The URL should be the dashboard URL (not the magic link)

"The link isn't working / it shows an error"

Possible causes:

  • The link has expired (magic links are valid for 15 minutes by default, or 1 hour for support-generated links)
  • The link has already been used (single use only)
  • The link was mangled by the messaging app (line breaks, URL preview stripping the token)

Fix:

  1. Generate a new magic link
  2. Send it as a plain text SMS or email — avoid rich text or apps that might modify the URL
  3. Ask the subscriber to tap it directly from the message

"It worked once but now it doesn't"

What's happening: Their session may have expired (90 days) or they cleared their browser data.

Fix: Send a new magic link. Once they log in, their device will be re-registered for another 90 days.

How to Send a Magic Link

Option 1: Through the platform

The subscriber can request their own magic link from the login screen by entering their email address. The system will send them a link via email.

Option 2: Ask the dev team

For urgent cases, the dev team can generate a direct magic link. Provide:

  • Subscriber's email address
  • Club name

The dev team will send back a link you can forward to the subscriber.

Key Things to Tell Subscribers

When sending a magic link, include these instructions:

Tap the link below to access your Season Pass dashboard. Once your tickets load, use the Share button and tap "Add to Home Screen" to save it for easy access next time.

If you have any trouble, take a screenshot of what you see and send it to us.

Troubleshooting Checklist

If a subscriber reports they can't access their dashboard, work through this:

# Check Action
1 Are they tapping the magic link or the dashboard URL? They need to tap the magic link first to log in
2 Have they already used the magic link? Magic links are single use — generate a new one
3 Has the link expired? Standard links expire in 15 mins, support links in 1 hour
4 Did they delete their home screen shortcut? They need to log in again and re-add it
5 Are they on a different device or browser? Each device needs its own login — send a new link
6 Is the link being modified by their messaging app? Try sending the full URL as plain text
7 None of the above? Ask for a screenshot and escalate to the dev team

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can a subscriber have multiple devices logged in? Yes. Each device gets its own trusted device registration. They just need to click a magic link once on each device.

Q: What if a subscriber has multiple subscriptions (e.g., bought 2 tickets)? The dashboard automatically shows all tickets across all their subscriptions for the same email address.

Q: Does the subscriber need to download an app? No. It's a web app. They access it through their phone's browser. Adding it to the home screen makes it look and feel like an app, but it's optional.

Q: How long does a login last? 90 days from when they last logged in. After that, they'll need a new magic link.

Q: Can we see if a subscriber has successfully logged in? Yes — the dev team can check the subscriber's token usage and trusted device status in the database.
